There have been a lot of improvements since the release of version 3.0,
as you can see in the list below. If you want to try Raily, you can download a
demo version here If you would
like to order the software you can do this directly from
this page . Please do
not forget to send us your plans, so that we can add them to our
plan library
and will support other Raily users.
System requirements:
- Intel Pentium or compatible
- 32 MB free RAM
- 30 MB free harddrive space
- Mouse or a similar pointing device
- Graphics: min. 800x600 (16 Bit color depth), 1024x768
recommended
- Recent graphic card driver
- CD-ROM-Drive
- Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP
The most important and improved functions of version
4.0:
- With the option for different views you can easily modify the
view of Raily in the steps Simple - Classic - Professional:
- The simple view allows new users to work with the program right
away.
- Users of a previous version will handle the program right away in
the classic view.
- The professional view allows to use more complex features from
the design of the plans to the design of new trains.
- Different assistants simplify the start with Raily by using
different start dialogues for choosing modules etc.
- Flex tracks can now be entered by using length, radius and
angle or can be used as common Bezier curves.
- The new Autoflex-function allows to automatically close two
open ends with flex tracks.
- You can yourself design buildings, trees and special objects with the
simple to use editors.
- The new object repository offers a lot of predefined objects
as trees, mountains, buildings and trains. Objects can easily be adapted to a
new scale, so that every object is available for all scales. In the
professional mode the user can add self-made objects, which will get a
realistic view by projecting pictures, to the repository.
- For the first time filled polygons with textures can be shown in
3D mode.
- New is also the completely free choice for the camera position
(even directly in the plan), so that you can see the railroad from any
perspective.
- You can let a train ride on all of the more than 100 track
modules. This is convenient to check, if all pieces of the railroad are
correctly connected
- A different option is to use the drivers view for riding
through the railroad (all viewing angles are possible). The size of the view is
also freely selectable. You do not need any DirectX or OpenGL!
- The next switch , which the train will face, can be
switched by hitting the space bar.
- Plans from any previous version of Raily can be opened
normally (automatic import). They will afterwards be saved in the new file
format.
- Self-made modules from a previous version can be simply
converted.
These features were already included in version 3.0:
- Define overall size of the railroad, automatic refreshing of
the inventory, printing of the plans in a defined scale, editing
flex tracks and printing in 1:1 scale. Exporting of the plans to DXF,
HPGL, BMP and EMF, and lots more.
- Plans or parts of it can be printed in a user defined scale,
if necessary splitting to several pages
- Calculation of rising tracks and the resulting
shortening.
- 3-D viewing and printing of plans.
- Copying and moving of tracks or parts of the plan via drag and
drop.
- Up to 300 layers to structure the plans.
- Life Update! Over the Internet you can update the module as
well as the program files.
- Inventory calculates the costs for the missing
tracks.
- Poles can be defined and placed along the track.
- Export plans to the file formats: HPLG, BMP, DFX and
EMF.
- User defined lines and polygons can be imported.
- Polygons can be imported via the Windows clipboard.
- Import all plans and elements from previous
versions.
- Plan browser.
- Measuring of distances in the plan.
- Format user text.
- And a lot more.
- All common
European Track
Systems are supported.
